Steph Bewley – Practice Manager
Moving to Christchurch in October 2021 after spending 31 years in the Wakatipu, Steph has worked in legal offices both in NZ and off-shore for more than 25 years. Having been involved in a business with her husband since the early 1990’s, she branched out on her own after completing her MBA - providing a specialist range of management and strategic services with a holistic approach, customised to her clients’ specific requirements.
Having started her legal career as a trust administrator, Steph also worked as a legal executive before moving into Practice Management and specialising in this area. Mentoring and introducing law graduates and support staff to assist them in reaching their potential is something she really enjoys.
An avid walker and mountain biker, Steph enjoys time with her family, and cannot wait until international travel becomes easily accessible again.

Hannah Kennedy - Legal Secretary
Since moving to New Zealand from Australia in 2017, Hannah studied as a mechanic, but once she discovered that cars were more of a weekend hobby, Hannah started her career in the law industry.
After working for a larger Christchurch firm for 3 years, Hannah joined Godfreys in September 2022 as a Legal Secretary to further expand her knowledge and work alongside a closeknit team who are dedicated to helping the community.
Hannah works in all areas of law provided by Godfreys but has a key interest in estate work. Being able to achieve the best result for Godfrey’s clients is very important to Hannah which is why she strives to have knowledge in a variety of different areas.
When she is not at work, Hannah enjoys spending time with her fur family and watching Harry Potter on repeat.
Raajan Sami – Litigation solicitor
Having just moved to Christchurch from Auckland with his young family, Raajan has joined the team at Godfreys Law as a litigation associate. Raajan has 10 + years of experience in debt collection, civil and commercial litigation, insolvency, relationship property, disputed estates and PPPR Act matters. His aim is always to simplify the process for clients and achieve the best possible outcome in the circumstances.
Raaj is passionate about giving back to the community and helping the less fortunate. He is an active volunteer at the Citizens Advice Bureau, Rotary and Sporting organisations, using his knowledge to help benefit the lives of others.
Raaj recently relocated from Auckland to Christchurch, with his active 7-year-old and 2 Labradors. He is keen on almost anything sports, and loves being actively involved in his son’s U10 teams. Getting in touch with nature, trips to the beach, long walks, biking and road trips are at the top of Raaj’s to-do list when not at work.
Michelle Peters - Trust Accountant
Michelle started her legal career in Auckland working in various positions and working her way up to Trust Account Administrator. She recently joined Godfreys Law in December 2022 as our Trust Accountant.
Michelle and her husband have lived in Christchurch for a little while, having moved here in 1996. Michelle finds living in Christchurch great, as she has access to fantastic mountain biking and walking throughout the city, and at her doorstep by Burwood Forest. Additionally, Michelle has one son at the University of Canterbury,
