Earlier in the year, Kate joined the team at Godfreys Law as a Law Clerk, having completed her studies at the end of 2021. Originally from Wellington, Kate came down to the South Island to study at the University of Canterbury. Having completed a double degree in Law and Criminal Justice, Kate fell in love with Christchurch over the last five years and plans to stay and build a future here.
In June of this year, Kate was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court. Kate really enjoyed the admission ceremony, especially the fact she was able to complete it with her friend Roma (pictured on the right) who she started her entire journey into law with when they started together at the University of Canterbury. She was also excited that her parents were able to make it to her admission ceremony.
Kate is now a part of our conveyancing and residential property team at Godfreys Law. Kate aims to be an approachable, supportive navigator for clients who are going through the process of buying or selling their homes. She has really enjoyed her start at Godfreys and especially likes how friendly everyone in the team is, and she says she hopes to develop the same client focussed attitude that all her co-workers at Godfreys have.
We all want to wish a huge congratulations to Kate for this achievement and we look forward to seeing her grow and develop as a solicitor in this new chapter of her career.
